I write fantasy and science fiction as Kate Elliott. I live in Hawaii with my family, our neurotic miniature Schnauzer (aka the Schnazghul), and a one-man outrigger canoe. Unfortunately, we don't have a house on the beach; in fact, we live about as far away from the beach as anyone can on this island because that's where the houses are cheapest.

I like to talk about writing, reading, publishing, the literature of the fantastic, landscape, travel, religion, Judaism, parenting, history, Miyazaki, music, Biblical Hebrew, anthropology, paddling outrigger canoes, and anything else that will give me yet another way to procrastinate. Help me out!


Friends and Friending, lj-style: I consider this my public blog, so anyone can friend me--no need to ask permission. If it happens that I don't friend you back, it is not because I don't like you or don't want to hear your voice, it's because I'm overwhelmed and only have so many hours in the day and I have to use those writing fiction and dealing with the rest of my life (online sucks up too much time as it is).
