I think New Zealand is having an election right about now, too, aren't they?

Anyway, here in Hawaii it's somewhat past 5 am (Hawaiian Time, which never changes) on election day 2008 (USA). I'm awake, and it's still dark, a state of affairs I don't normally endure.

I consider this the most important election of my lifetime so far.

In consequence, I slept badly, and had very emotionally strong dreams, good ones and bad ones.

There was one commonality in those dreams, however.

In all of them that I recall, I was doing dishes.

Go figure.

Q & A

The day at the polling station was long for those of us working, the voting was steady but never overwhelming, and with only a couple of mild exceptions, folks were pleasant and cheerful.

This will be my only comment about the outcome this evening, and tomorrow I plan to go back to no politics no religion on my blog (because those are the small town customs I grew up with).

But tonight:

Q: What do you call a mere "community organizer" who runs for the highest office in the land?

A: Mr. President Elect.

P.S. Got released from poll work just as the Obama speech began, so didn't see the earlier McCain speech and can't comment. However, I do want to say that Jill Biden and Michelle Obama looked great.
