Interview Questions
Jan. 13th, 2010 12:16 pmAnd yet, life goes on.
JF, the fabulous Assistant Editor at Orbit Books, has emailed me to let me know that Orbit typically runs an "author interview" at the back of the book with a new series. She wants me to ask and answer 8 - 10 questions, of the sort to be of interest or pique the interest of both the casual and the more dedicated reader. Which means, I suppose, questions of varying types, and some, uh, "local color" type questions. She mentioned that most of the writers start with "what are your influences" and "what are your hobbies" and go from there.
If I have to put in an author interview at the back, and since I am not clever in the way of clever witty people who can do a schtick for such interviews (I'mnot knocking that ability! I'm envious of it!) -- well -- I'd like to do something that is not generic, or at least not too generic, since some readers may actually be interested in a question like: "when did you start writing?"
So, peeps, do you have any suggestions?
