A word count is not of particular interest to anyone but me, but I'm doing it to keep myself honest. If I miss a day, you have my permission to rag on me for not posting progress report.

March 4: approx 600-800 words including completion of the scene I mostly wrote yesterday, but also re-read and jiggered three already written scenes and started the next scene. I am now -- finally -- back to where I was in the manuscript on December 14 when the RSI flared rather badly. I'm still having problems with RSI, but it's variable and therefore much more endurable.

If any of you have exercises you'd like to share for RSI, please do so.

And while I'm at it: do you have any topics of discussion you'd like to see opened up here, or any specific topics you would like me to address, or questions for me? Etc. Be creative.

Meanwhile, I'm aiming for 2000 words tomorrow. 2000-2500/day is my current first draft target because I just need to get everything laid down so I can shake it all around until it lines up right, and I can't do that until I've got it all out. None of this mental gardening for me, although I'd love to work that way (work it all out in the head and then just "take dictation" from oneself, as it were). I guess this is tied to my being a kinetic learner; the process of writing it, even including all the things I already know have to happen, is the process of creation for me. Perhaps I need the movement implied in writing rather than headwork to make the architecture fully unfold.

I still do not have a picture of my new toy, but my crazy neighbor admired it.
