Australia Book Signing Dates & Worldcon
Aug. 22nd, 2010 07:22 pmI apologize if you have seen this material before. No doubt you will see it again. It has been my experience that if I only post events information once, then people miss it.
Book signings are free and open to the public. Only events at Worldcon (listed below) need a convention membership.
Sydney, Australia
Galaxy Books
Thursday 26 August
with Karen Miller and Charles Stross
5:30 pm
Infinitas Books
Monday 30 August
5:30 pm (will include short reading and Q&A, if there are any Qs)
(I think it is possible that with either/both of the above bookstores, if you cannot attend the signing you may be able to contact them by email or phone and reserve a book, even one personalized to you, which you can then purchase and they mail to you; I can't say for certain, but you may as well ask!)
Melbourne, Australia
Borders South Wharf
Thursday 2 Sept
with Karen Miller, Marianne de Pierres, & Trent Jamieson
5:30 (short readings, + Q&A panel session)
Worldcon 2 Sept - 6 Sept
To attend program events at Worldcon you must have a membership.
At the moment I have a single programming item.
Thursday 2 Sept
1600
Rm 204
Panel: Steal the past, build the future: new histories for fantasy fiction.
I will let you know if I am rescheduled for a reading, signing or Kaffeeklatsch at a time I can actually attend.
The Orbit Books booth in the dealers room will be hosting book signings, and I will certainly do at least one signing session there, so do check their schedule for times.
I am planning to set up an informal kaffeeklatsch (get together), most likely outside the convention, with anyone who wants to show up (no membership necessary); if you know of a coffee shop quite close by and could let me know, I would appreciate it.
Also, there may be other signing events in the Melbourne area that weekend; news on those as I hear.
For those of you not attending Worldcon or who don't live in Australia, thank you for your patience with all this publicity material.
And, for those who have even bothered to read this far, and who may recall the character who totally pulled one over on me in a way no character has ever done before--well--I know how to get even now. It's war between me and him, I tell you. War.
