May. 26th, 2010 04:33 pmWhen hitting the predictable mid book slump in one's current project, sometimes the best thing that can happen is to have a different, back-burner project explode in your head, distracting you for a week with bright and shiny new ideas. Because I think what happens is that the gaze that was so wearily assessing the current project becomes refreshed by the break.

But I am now back on track with Cold Fire, the working title of the sequel to Cold Magic. All that stuff that I thought was so boring and tired and bland? Well, sure, it will need revision--it always does, and I'm an extensive reviser--but it's all right for this stage of the game.
