Back - and an eBook question

My thanks to all for your good wishes. They meant a great deal to me at a difficult time.
We had a moving memorial service, a quiet and profound graveside ceremony, a pleasant reception with food, and of course some family drama, everything one could expect. I had an absolutely fabulous time as always with my phenomenally marvelous nieces and nephews, 7 of them ranging in age from 19 to 5, and finally met the utterly adorable girlfriend of one of the 19-yr-olds.
I then returned home to a house whose popcorn ceiling had been pulled down while I was away (it was tested previously for asbestos and came up negative; we had to pull it down because bits were peeling off), breathed fine particulate dust for a week, moved so much stuff around that my back came very very close to seizing up entirely, and buffaloed my spouse into agreeing to repaint the living/dining room while we had everything moved. I wanted to do something a leetle bolder than the white walls we had, preferably something pulling off the color of our clay red tile that covers the entry, dining, and kitchen. The contractor swore up and down that he knew exactly what to do with the main color and a couple of contrast walls. It's stunningly different, and actually, he was right. It looks spectacular.
Meanwhile, I have bronchitis (see previous: fine particulate dust), and therefore am troubled about a question:
digital readers like the Sony, Kindle, and iLiad.
What are you opinions (not of the concept, please, but of the functionality of the various ones on the market now), and why?
I have a Mac, although I have daily access to a PC were I to need it.
Thanks in advance for your views!
